A standout anniversary programme for KIHE 2013

KIHE 2013, the 20th anniversary Kazakhstan International Healthcare Exhibition, will take place from 15 to 17 May 2013 in Pavilions 10 and 11 of Almaty's Atakent Exhibition Centre.

The event is unique this year in that it offers an extensive business programme – both at the exhibition itself and with a wide range of professional events taking place alongside it. Business events will take place concurrently in three venues for the first time in KIHE's history, allowing a record number of masterclasses and seminars – 42 – to be held from 15 to 17 May 2013. These events will present the latest developments, technologies, and treatment and diagnosis methods. Over 5,500 healthcare professionals from Kazakhstan and other countries regularly visit KIHE.

KIHE is the largest healthcare exhibition in Kazakhstan and Central Asia in terms of exhibitor numbers and representation, and this year 250 companies from 20 countries will exhibit, including Germany and the Czech Republic taking part from national stands. Large company groups from Russia, China and Turkey will also take part.

Germany's delegation will include senior figures from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association, and the German Hightech Industry Association. As well as this, representatives from the Czech Association of Producers and Suppliers of Medical Equipment will make their traditional visit to the exhibition.

Exhibitor numbers have grown by 20% and exhibition space by 30% compared to last year. KIHE is an international event – 60% of all exhibitors are from outside Kazakhstan, with Russia, Germany, China and the Czech Republic having the largest presence. The UK, Italy and France are all newcomer countries, and South Korean companies are playing an active part this year with product presentations taking place throughout the second day of the exhibition in Seminar Room 2.

A wide range of medical products and services will be showcased at the event by a range of companies – from producers, dealers and distributors of medical equipment to laboratory building companies and producers of drugs, disinfectants and other products used in medicine.

Gulnara Kurpenova, CEO of Yumgiskor Holdings: "We have a surprise for KIHE visitors this year – we are presenting innovative developments in laboratory equipment, endoscopy and endosurgery, microscopy, express diagnosis and pre-analytical systems. As a company that has previously exhibited, and as General Sponsor of the event, we are focusing on the latest solutions in medicine that can change the medical sector for the better and allow high-precision diagnosis and effective patient treatment to be carried out. KIHE shows the highest levels of quality year after year."

Anastasia Balysheva, KIHE Project Manager: "We are always pleased to meet the demands of equipment, machinery and pharmaceutical producers and of doctors themselves. As a consequence, the exhibition is expanding and various interactive education events are being held. Our objective is to create conditions that allow directors of various companies, organisations and institutions to continuously update their knowledge and learn from the best regional and international experience in medicine and healthcare. I would like to thank our partners and official supporters for organising professional events, thanks to which this 20th anniversary edition of KIHE is one that unites science, government and business."

Healthcare Week will take place in Almaty this year for the first time, adding a range of events to KIHE 2013. The week will open with the 2nd international congress of the Almaty State Institute of Advanced Medical Education: 'Health for All: Chronic Illnesses, Solving Problems'.

The 4th General Assembly of the National Medical Association is set to be an important international platform for discussing pressing problems in healthcare. It will include the Disaster Medicine through Integration conference, with government officials and world-famous doctors from Kazakhstan, Russia, Germany, Denmark, the USA, Turkey and Japan taking part. The General Assembly, taking place from 15 to 17 May at the Bakshasaray reception house, will include Leonid Roshal, Bern Domres, Yoshitake Yokokura and Turhan Sofuoglu among its guests.

Over the 20 years that leading sector companies have presented their equipment at the exhibition, KIHE has become a forum that unites science and technology. This combination of science, presentation of new technology, and deals to sell equipment is the new face of the KIHE exhibition.
