FROM PROCUREMENT TO PARTNERSHIP: ITECA and SK-PHARMACY EXPAND DIALOGUE WITH GLOBAL PHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURERS

Today, a working meeting was held at the site of SK-Pharmacy LLP with representatives of the Kazakhstan exhibition company Iteca, dedicated to the upcoming international industry exhibitions — KIHE “Healthcare” and PharmaTECH Kazakhstan “Equipment, Raw Materials and Technologies for the Pharmaceutical Industry”.

During the meeting on March 13, the organizers presented information on the preparation for the exhibitions, which will be held from May 20 to 22 in Almaty.

The parties discussed the business program of the events, as well as the participation of representatives of SK-Pharmacy as speakers in a number of plenary sessions. It is planned that representatives of the Single Distributor will deliver presentations on the development of the public procurement system for medicines and medical devices, the implementation of digital solutions, as well as improving transparency and efficiency of logistics processes.

In addition, within the framework of the exhibitions, the Single Distributor plans to hold negotiations with international and domestic pharmaceutical companies. The main objective of these meetings will be the development of direct contracts with manufacturers, which will reduce intermediary chains, increase supply sustainability, and ensure additional savings of budget funds.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to the analysis of the current state of the pharmaceutical market and its development prospects. The parties discussed opportunities for expanding direct cooperation with manufacturers, strengthening export potential, improving procurement mechanisms, and implementing best international practices to further increase the availability of medicines for the population, as well as expanding the range and volume of long-term contracts with Kazakhstani manufacturers.

It was noted that the growing interest from international manufacturers, suppliers, and investors in the exhibitions confirms the potential of Kazakhstan as one of the key centers for the development of medicine and the pharmaceutical industry in Central Asia. To date, more than 380 companies from 20 countries have confirmed their participation.

Following the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of SK-Pharmacy’s participation in these international platforms as a tool for developing partnerships, attracting investments, exchanging experience, and promoting initiatives for the development of Kazakhstan’s pharmaceutical industry.
